So I've figured out why I've been so close to the end for so long and am still not done. Don't get too excited, this isn't an epiphany realization, just an I'm putting this into words realization. I. Can't. Write. Implications. Because there aren't any. I mean, sure, for people who are dealing with these issues it's very important what other people think. I didn't talk to them. Unless you're in the situation, it is just symbolic, no matter what Karasawa & Libell argue. Karen Dugger's right: it's different if you take a pragmatic approach. Poor people have to. The rich don't unless they are even the policy makers. I didn't talk to pragmatists, I talked to future policy makers. So my Implications are going to be "because I (and three researchers in Maryland and California) think it's interesting." On the plus side, my Limitations section adds a good 4 pages! Too bad I buy into them more... On the plus side, there are still lots of THINGS THAT MAKE ME HAPPY: Nate's happy I will always know how to make baked potatoes and hard-boiled eggs, courtesy of sarbear24601I have a computer not in the basement, which means I get to see the light of day I'm going home to see headlessqueen and we shall be Soma/life buddies It's snowing lots and lots in many places, where people I love can enjoy it I will crash the party of openended, wherever she shall be My mp3 player hasn't died *emphatic knock on wood* I'm not running the review session by myself tonight I saw Jim Hoppe's sons and they're absolutely adorable but perhaps THE MOST COMPELLING REASON TO BE HAPPY: The world has bilbies and they come in chocolate! Ok, so now that I've wasted enough time to come up with implications talking about how there are no implications, I'm gonna go. For those 8 of you who have snow, go play in it! or at least gaze longingly out the window while you're letting your brilliant ideas percolate... Love to all, Australian marsupials in particular... |

So I've been working on this paper for the last 8 hours (I won't tell you how much I've gotten done, it's embarrassing) and decided it would be fruitful to go back over it and make sure it's coherent before I keep trying to pull words from who-knows-where so I'll hit the minimum page limit so I can turn it in so I can graduate. Anyway, I read the first paragraph and was like, hey, I almost sound smart! But I can't tell if that's a function of being a senior English major who's actually gotten better at writing or if it's just 'cause I'm tired and sentences all sound the same... Hey, in 1,000 (or probably 700) words I can go to bed! w00t!!! ::gets up and walks away:: |

so I've taken to signing my name "Christie" by accident. I'm not sure if this is because "Christine" ends in an "e" or if "Christi" just feels too short for my fingers. regardless, this should not be taking priority in my brain right now. I just thought I'd amuse the world with that random question. Current Mood: inquisitiveCurrent Music: Darude - Tocastorm |

oh, English majors...
These are the top 106 books most often marked as "unread" by LibraryThing's users. As usual, bold what you have read, italicize what you started but couldn't finish, and strike through what you couldn't stand. Add *an asterisk* to those you've read more than once. Underline those on your to-read list. ( cut because I like being on friends pages )Wow, I didn't realize what a slacker I am in English classes until I went through this list. In all fairness to myself, I have finished most of them (i.e., I have read the endings), I just haven't read all of them. So it goes.
